*Published: 2023-05-11* Homelabs are super cool, but I can't really justify all that physical space for some electrons flying about. That said, I did need to get my shit together when it comes to network cable management, and knowing what port does what! It was getting a little unsustainable. Conveniently, my router also died recently too, meaning its a good time to *remodel*. You might see some warping and bending. Turns out printing along the z-axis is prone to HUGE errors. The pieces that were printing along the Z-axis (upwards) were sometimes even a centimeter too short! Stuff printed flat on the bed were fine. Anyway a lot of creative hole-drilling and cursing was needed to get everything lined up. At first I was kinda annoyed that the vendor didn't have blue PETG, but the purple colour actually turned out super well! **Models:** - [Mini server rack for TP Link TL-SG108 and Raspberry Pi](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5146793) - [Cover Plate](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5321822) - [Top and bottom cover](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5163120) ![[Pasted image 20230511152653.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230511152657.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230511152702.png]] ![[Pasted image 20230511095711.png]] **I also bought:** - A sheet of polycarbonate to cut the side panels. - [Makita oscillating tool](https://www.makita.com.au/building-construction/category/multi-tools/dtm52zx3-18v-brushless-multi-tool) to cut the panels - Bunch of hex nuts and bolts for the aesthetic sides ![[telegram-cloud-photo-size-5-6316502931171554542-y.jpg]] ## Adding some flair I had a bunch of car stickers left over so I luckily I had some lying around. ![[telegram-cloud-photo-size-5-6316502931171554543-y.jpg]] ![[telegram-cloud-photo-size-5-6316502931171554544-y.jpg]] ## The finished product Sadly, even after all that work, no one will (physically) get to see it. It just sits in the garage, chugging away. ![[telegram-cloud-photo-size-5-6089112265711269144-y.jpg]] And guess what? The server rack is too small, and I need another one. Maybe I should've gotten that giant server rack in the first place...
